Box Cutter Skateboards is my little skateboard art thing. As long as I can remember, a skateboard has been a constant in my life. Starting with my dads banana boards from the 60's and 70's, I've seen a photo of me on one of those boards, rolling down the sidewalk, while standing, and Im not even 3 years old. I cant say labeled myself a "skater" that young, but by the time I did, at 9, it was a label I would never remove.
Now 51, I still skate. I have always stayed current on whats going on in skateboarding, regarding the fashion and equipment. Though my best days are LONG gone, I can say I excelled at it in my youth, and was climbing that ladder to achieving my dreams of being a pro. I messed that up with a bad choice, and part of the consequences were, that I had to stop skateboarding. That was in 1989.
Though my days of progressing at skateboarding were done before the 90's, my love for it never ended. The lessons I learned from skateboarding carry over into my current life. Now days, skating is purely a pastime, and only for fun. I make skateboard art, and have been designing and riding boards I designed. I've taught the both of my children, my girlfriend, and now my 5 year old grandson how to skateboard, and will gladly show anyone that wants to learn.
